What is the Co-operative Development Initiative?
The Co-operative Development Initiative (CDI) is a Government of Canada program delivered in partnership with co-operative sector organizations to enhance the contribution of co-operatives to meeting the economic and social needs of Canadians. There are three program components:
Advisory Services to support co-operative development by ensuring that technical and expert advice are provided to individuals and groups wishing to create or strengthen a co-operative;
Innovative Co-operative Projects to support innovative co-operative projects in priority areas, including the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned from projects;
Research and Knowledge Developmentto support research and knowledge development to facilitate innovation and growth of the Canadian co-operative sector.
